About Macron Software

Macron has been serving its customers since 1991. The company was chosen by Microsoft to localize key products like Windows 95, Office 95 and Windows NT, and has localized other notable applications such as Apple MacOS, Quark XPress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and many others. The company subsequently expanded into hardware and software distribution and DTP solutions. Since 1993, the company has been a key strong player in the pre-press systems integration field. With turnover, profits and employees increasing, Macron Software was established as a separate company in 2000 to focus on three main activities:

1. Multimedia outsourcing. With outsourcing partners including leading worldwide multimedia publishers such as Dorling Kindersley/Pearson, BBC Worldwide, and Vivendi Universal Publishing, Macron is an important provider of development services and localization for clients throughout Europe. We have completed dozens of projects successfully including the localization of large CDROM and DVDROM titles, simultaneous releases in multiple languages and development of multimedia series.



2. Web content management. Macron Software Internet Development supports our own online publishing and content management product – WebToDate. WebToDate is the best-selling web publishing system in the Czech Republic and is used by key media servers (Ringier and MONA publishing houses), government institutions (Government of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Defense, Parliament of the Czech Republic, Czech Army), and major companies (West Bohemia Energy, VSS Komercni Bank). In 2002 we successfully expanded into the Polish market and implemented our first installations through a network of partners.



3. Multimedia CD-ROM licensing. Since 2000, Macron Software has been the exclusive representative for licensing of Dorling Kindersley‘s range of CDROM products in all non-English speaking markets worldwide. In 2002 we expanded this activity providing a range of similar services in various territories for Hachette Multimedia and 4-Learning (UK Channel 4).



4. Games division. This recently established and quickly growing team provides outsourcing services for game development and testing on all platforms, as well as develops and licenses mobile games.
